Kevin’s printmaking artistry includes letterpress, lithography, and woodcut—often mixing each medium and complementing them with screen printing. As an undergraduate fine art student at Indiana University at South Bend, he discovered that printmaking provided opportunities to combine his love for drawing with his enjoyment of demanding technical processes and commitment to beautiful craft. He continued his printmaking education by completing his M.F.A. in printmaking at the University of Illinois, with a special emphasis on lithography and intaglio. He has been exhibiting his artwork in national and international shows since 1977, and his prints can be found in private and public art collections. Kevin taught studio arts and graphic design for thirty-five years at several universities and has worked as a graphic designer since 1985 with several creative agencies and as a freelance graphic designer. Recently retired from teaching, Kevin is enjoying a renewed focus on his printmaking endeavors.

Rudynski Artisans

Rudynski Artisans is the artistic/craft collaboration of Kevin and Mary Rudynski. Nestled within the prairie of East Central Indiana near the headwater of Fall Creek, they work from their home-based studios. They have passionately cultivated their artistic and craft endeavors for over forty years, resulting in an impressive array of both two- and three-dimensional creations. Their creative practice includes a wide variety of printmaking and textile crafts, including letterpress, lithography, screenprinting, weaving, crochet, and knitting.

We believe that exploring and developing our creativity through artistic and handcrafted practice is the best way we can contribute meaningful and high-quality products to our world.

Mary’s repertoire of artistry includes crochet, knitting, fiber spinning, weaving, and sewing. Her attitude toward creative practice is shaped by her love for crafting beautiful functional textile products. For her, complex and time-consuming products are well worth the lifetime of service and beauty they add to everyday living. Nature inspires the designs, colors, and choices of materials for her products. Hand-spun wool, alpaca, and other natural fibers (even dog hair) offer beauty and practical comfort. Mary is committed to recycling whenever possible and gives new life to vintage yarn in her projects. Her recycling efforts extend to everyday materials like plastic grocery bags that are carefully crafted and appear to be natural straw handbags. Mary’s products available for sale on our site are “labors of love,” and she views them as worthy of her time and talents—and hopes you will find a place in your life for her fine products, too!
